~Marline Heath~

Lillian Marline Heath peacefully walked through heaven's gate on May 2nd after a very brief battle with cancer. She was at home in Lake Wildwood, surrounded by her loving family. She was 73.
Marline married Vern Heath in 1959. They moved to Santa Cruz in 1969 where they raised their 2 children, Julie Heath Johnson of Lake Wildwood and Matthew Heath of Santa Barbara. Marline left her career as a dental assistant to raise her family.

Marline loved life! She enjoyed traveling her husband, music, gardening, going to Curves, and spending time with her family and friends. She had a way of profoundly touching all who knew her. She especially cherished all the time spent with her five grandchildren, Britney, Hunter and Hannah Heath and Caitlin and Ava Johnson. Her family was her joy. She had a deep spiritual life which she instilled in both her children and grandchildren. Marline was much loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Vern, her children Julie Heath(Matt) Johnson of Lake Wildwood; son Matthew Heath of Santa Barbara; daughter Melinda (Carl) Wilson of Grants Pass, OR; sister LaVonne Harrison of Napa; brother Roy Gregg of Richmond; grandchildren, Britney, Hunter, Hannah, Caitlin and Ava, two great grandchildren, Peyton and Abbigal and numerous nieces and nephews.

We will Miss You Marline.. even the skies are crying

My Mom walked through Heavens Gate at 11:45 AM, today. She was very peaceful and surrounded by her loving husband and family. I bent over and kissed her forhead as she let out her last breath. Caitlin and Ava, Lorin and Arlene, my husband Matt, and Malinda and her husband Carl were all circled around her as she left her earthly body. I am sure she is at this moment soaring through the Heavens with a huge smile on her beautiful face.......Taking in huge breaths of air without coughing or any more struggle. My Mom was the strongest, most beautiful person I have ever known. I am so hugely blessed to have been able to call her Mom. My girls were hugely blessed to be able to call her "Grammy". We are planning to have a celebration of her beautiful life sometime in the near future. When I have the date I will post it for everyone. Thanks again for all of your generous love and support. You all meant the world to my Mom. I love you Mom, Julie :)

Hello everyone.. From Julie
Sorry it has been such a while since my last update.....things have been very hectic around here. We are very blessed to have such wonderful family and friends!! These past several days we have had Arlene and Lorin, Pat and Grant, Darin, and my good friend Michelle, up here helping with cooking, cleaning, and taking care of my two girls. Matt is also here with two of his kids Hunter and Britney, and his girlfriend Hollie . Brit drove straight through from Wyoming by herself to be with her Grammy. We had sad news from both her Doctor and Hospice over the weekend saying we were down to the final hours/days. Those of you who know my Mom know she has the spirit of a warrior! She is still very lucid at times communicating with us and making us laugh.......other times she is completely unresponsive. I love watching her strength and spirit.....she is still trying to eat and drink water!! We continue to pray for a miracle but I fear we are enjoying our last precious moments with my Mom. I can not tell you how grateful I am for all your cards and prayers. We read her the cards every day.......Thank-You :) I am also very blessed to have made such wonderful friends up here in Lake Wildwood. They have been there for me and my parents providing meals and childcare since the diagnosis on January 28th. I can't believe today is our " three month anniversary". How fast this disease strips you of everything you were. Obviously though, it cannot take your spirit!!I will update you again when I can.-Julie

Marline Update April 9th 2009

Today there was discouraging news from the doctors. The medication Marline was taking, that we had so much hope in, is not working. Marline is home now and the doctor has recommended hospice come in to help keep her as comfortable as possible.
Please keep Marline and Vern and their family in your prayers.
Marline enjoys receiving cards in the mail... keep them coming!
